These get compared all the time, and they are not actually the same purchase. Jobber runs the job. Prestige Rep runs the front office that books the job. Most shops end up needing both. The only real question is which one you fix first.
Layer 02 organizes work that already exists. Layer 01 decides how much work exists in the first place. Build in that order.
Grouped by layer, because that is where the difference actually lives. Jobber has built out real front office tools over the last two years. The gap is no longer whether a feature exists. It is who sets it up, who runs it, what tier it sits behind, and what it costs once it is all switched on.
Say you run eight to ten people and you want the same front office capability out of each one. Here is what that bill looks like. Both columns use published rates as of August 2026.
One package. Ten trucks or one.
Month to month. No contract. Usage beyond the included $10 credit is billed pay-as-you-go, standard for any phone system. Card processing applies to payments you take, same as anywhere. Does not include dispatch or route optimization.
Grow, 10 users, annual billing.
Requires a 12 month commitment to get that rate. Monthly billing runs roughly 25 to 30 percent higher. Add ons bill monthly only and cannot be prepaid annually. This does buy you dispatch, routing, and job costing, which Prestige Rep does not offer.
Anyone who tells you a competitor has no strengths is selling you something. Jobber is a mature, well supported platform with hundreds of thousands of service businesses on it, and there are situations where it is clearly the right answer.
The question is not which one is better. It is which one is first.
Jobber is job management software. It is good at it. But job management organizes work that already made it through the door. If a homeowner calls at 2pm while you are under a sink, and nothing texts them back, that job never reaches the schedule. There is nothing to dispatch.
That is the whole order of operations argument. Fix capture, then fix throughput. A contractor who installs the front office first and adds field ops later has never once regretted the sequence. The other direction is where the expensive lessons live.
If you want to know where your front office is leaking before you decide anything, get the Money Leak Scorecard.
Ten questions. About two minutes. It will tell you whether your leak is severe, moderate, or solid. If it comes back severe, someone from our team may reach out personally. Not to pitch you, just to walk through what we are seeing.
